So make sure you are going around your property to empty any standing water that may have accumulated, and make sure there are no containers left outside to collect water. Mosquitoes that have the potential to carry WNv like to lay eggs and develop in man-made containers. With the increase of WNv risk levels now in Barnstable County, it's especially important to be proactive in removing any water source on your property.
